Nearly 40 years ago, D.B. Cooper stepped out of a commandeered aircraft and into American outlaw folklore.
This week the FBI announced a renewed effort to solve the case.
Investigators have a DNA sample, taken from a cheap tie the skyjacker left behind on the aircraft, and some $20 bills a young man discovered in 1980 — believed to have been part of the $200k D.B. Cooper took in the bizarre crime.
Agents think the skyjacker is dead — speculating he never survived the jump.
What I wanna know is this? Why doesn’t the FBI ask its cousins within the Department of Justice to hunt down the perp? Ain’t that one of the things the U.S. Marshals Service does? Oh, unless the bad guy is DEAD! Heh.
