So what does this news clip tell us about relationships? Is it that we never know when we’re someone’s lifeline, someone’s distraction from an otherwise lonely existence? This waitress would probably never chosen her customer as a “best bud” kind of “hang out with” fellow. Apparently, though, she was his most important person during his last years on earth.
Perhaps we shouldn’t be so dismissive of people, just because “they’re not our type.” Not because of the potential monetary windfall, but because we may never know how important we are to someone we hardly know. Those implications could be eternal.
